From 29-31 October 2003 a conference took place in the University of Bremen entitled 'Values and Valuing - Religious Pluralism and Public Education'. Teachers, academics and religious educators from northern Germany attended the event.

On the first full day, the opening key note presentation was delivered by John Hull under the title 'Many Faiths/One World: The Responsibility of Religious Education'.

Papers from the conference are published as a festschrift for Professor Jürgen Lott under the title WerteSchätzen Religiöse Viefalt und Öffentliche Bildung ed. Christa Dommel, Jürgen Heumann and Gert Otto. Frankfurt and London, IKO 2003. Hull's paper, the original English text of which may be read through the above link, is here translated into German.
