The International Conference `CHILDHOODS 2005 OSLO` -Children and Youth in Emerging and Transforming Societies- JUNE 29. – JULY 3. 2005
The Norwegian Government has decided to celebrate the centenary of the State of Norway (1905-2005) by inviting Childwatch International and the University of Oslo to hold a conference on children, focusing especially on the rights of children and their situation around the world.
The conference will include about twenty academic and scientific sections, one of which will deal with the religion and spirituality of children. This section is chaired by Trygve Wyller (Oslo), John M Hull (Birmingham), and Usha Nayar (Mumbai), and is entitled "Gift, Autonomy, and Young People - New Perspectives for the Interpretation of Spirituality". There will be three key-note lectures, one of which will be delivered by John Hull, and more than thirty other papers.

The German Association for Religious Education Research (AfR)
The annual meeting of the AfR will take place in Berlin 16-18 September 2005. The AfR is the leading German association for academic religious educators, and was founded more than fifty years ago. The theme for 2005 is "The Theory and Practice of Religious Education in The European Context". The opening keynote address will be delivered by John Hull. About eighty professors and researchers of religious education are expected to attend.
