Malta - 2004


On 17-18th May 2004, The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights with the Foundation for International Studies of the University of Malta in Valletta held a seminar entitled "Religion and Education: the Possibility of Developing Tolerance Through the Teaching of Religious Facts". About 35 experts and representatives of church and other religious organisations were in attendance, representing fifteen European countries. John Hull gave the opening address of the academic part of the conference and lead discussion during the first morning. A Declaration was issued by the Strasbourg office of the Council of Europe, summarising the recommendations of the seminar.
